On the evening of August 14, 2024, Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, 1st. Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, received a phone call from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, regarding Geneva talks.

The Head the Sovereignty Council affirmed that the firm Sudanese position is represented by adhering to implementing the Jeddah Declaration Agreement according to the vision that was presented to the parties of the Jeddah Forum, and there is no objection to sitting with the facilitators of the Jeddah Forum to discuss with them how to implement it, while reaffirming the rejection of expanding the list of facilitators.
