The Government of Sudan believes in the importance of alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese, which resulted from the militia’s rebel violations against civilians, their property and their sanctities; and in appreciation of the government’s struggle and solid stance with its armed forces, the joint forces and all the regular forces in the battle of dignity.
In response to the invitation from the United States of America and the Arab Republic of Egypt to send a delegation to consult with the United States of America on the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023 , the Government of Sudan would like to inform our people of the following:

The Sudanese government values high The sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt stances, since the outbreak of the terrorist militia’s war, especially hosting the Sudanese, as well as its efforts to achieve peace and its initiative to host the consultative meeting with the United States of America, which did not take place due to circumstances related to the delegation of the United States of America.

The Government of Sudan decided to send a government delegation to Cairo to meet the American delegation.

Two members of our delegation arrived in Cairo since Monday, August 19, 2024.
They are still waiting for the delegation to join them.
This is an affirmation of our seriousness and our sincere desire to continue the previous consultation that we started with the United States of America in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 9 to 10 August.
– We note that these consultations have nothing to do with what is happening in the Geneva meetings, but it aimed to clarify our vision about the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023.

The principled position of the Government of Sudan is its bias towards real peace, which is based on sincere intentions and the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration, to represent the beginning of our people’s aspirations and open the way for our citizens to return to their homes, restore public utilities to work and open public roads.
It helps in the normalization of life, in preparation for negotiating the fate of the rebel militia and the rest of the peace-related arrangements.

The Government of the Republic of Sudan response also comes as part of its openness to the initiatives that lead to peace, to preserve the safety of the country and its national institutions, and to alleviate the suffering of our people, with the necessity of prior coordination with us and not by imposing a fait accompli from one side.
