DTM Sudan Flash Alert: Conflict in Sennar (Maiurno Village), Sennar

On 11 July 2024, armed clashes continued between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) across Sennar locality, Sennar. According to field teams, clashes erupted in Maiurno village, displacing approximately 100 households to other locations within Sennar locality. There were also reports of deaths and injuries among civilians.
An estimated total of 151,745 individuals (30,349 households) were displaced from Sennar state since 24 June 2024. Individuals were reportedly displaced to other locations within Sennar, to other states in Sudan (Gedaref, Kassala, Blue Nile, White Nile, River Nile and Red Sea), and across the border to South Sudan. The situation remains tense and unpredictable. DTM will continue to monitor the developments closely and will provide regular updates on displacement and population mobility across Sudan.
