AU Official: Cessation of hostilities in Sudan is possible

The African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs for Peace and Security said that a cessation of hostilities in Sudan is possible and achievable, stressing that there is no military solution to the war in the country.
In his speech at the opening session of the Sudanese Dialogue Conference in Addis Ababa, the Commissioner called on all Sudanese parties participating in the political dialogue to stop the war.
“Action must be done before the fighting in Sudan expands to neighboring countries.” he added.
