Port Sudan Launches Cleaning Campaign Coinciding with the Celebration of World Environment Day

The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited launched a campaign to clean the city of Port Sudan, which falls on June 5 of each year.
The campaign includes cleaning and delivering cleaning equipment to the state Environmental Council.
The program also includes “transporting waste from the city to the main landfill.”
For his part, Director of the General Department of Mineral Resources, Muhammad Taher Omar, said in a press statement on the occasion of World Environment Day, that the campaign will include every city of Port Sudan, especially densely populated places, as part of the efforts of the Sudanese company through the General Department of Environment and Peace.
He explained that they will finance this campaign and it will include every city of Port Sudan and a number of accompanying programs
within the framework of social responsibility, the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company is in partnership with the Red Sea State and the Supreme Council for the Environment, and it will extend to the level of all the states of Sudan.
He pointed out that the environment is an important issue and must be addressed by everyone, especially since our country is going through war conditions, and the city of Port Sudan hosts a number of shelters for people displaced from war zones.
He pointed out that it is their duty and responsibility to contribute to this framework and we will not stop in such actions, pointing out that the campaign extends to mining areas with a scheduled program and plan throughout the year.
For his part, Dr. Alaa El-Din Muhammad Ali, Director of the General Administration of the Safety and Environment Council, said: The General Administration has decided to celebrate World Environment Day and provide lectures and cleanliness campaigns. This year, we are in Port Sudan and we decided that the state must contribute to the cleanliness of the city due to its high population density.
He pointed out that it was Starting from the Daem Jaber random dump, cleaning equipment will be inaugurated to the Red Sea State Cleaning Authority, along with aids that will help the state with cleanliness in the coming period.
Aladdin pointed out that there are educational tools and awareness doses that will continue over the coming days.
He desclosed that there are a number of cadres who contributed to this campaign and partners who contributed to the success of this day, affirming that the campaign will contribute to improving the situation in the state, especially as we are heading into the summer season.
