Orbits: Time to Give Our Youth their Chance

Every now and then the social media outlets publish articles promoting the nomination of X or Y to become the prime minister ot Sudan.
Those articles seemed to be paid for because it include full details about the qualifications and experience of the nominee.
I recognize that all the nominees are above 65 years which is the age of retirement.
I don’t think that it is wise to have a prime minister who is in retirement, considering that Sudan is considered a young country as the ages of more than 60% of its population are around 30 years.
Accordingly, we need to listen to those youth.
This is what is required these days: listening to the other and not denying it, and this is what should be the thinking of future leaders, the new generation.
Those retired should be in the seats of consultants in some issues which require recalling past experiences.
Cumulative experience is no longer the standard, simply because with the click of a button, you can obtain the experiences of entire centuries, not several decades, and the experiences of entire nations, not individuals. The challenge is how to absorb this and employ it for the benefit of the nation and the citizens who are exhausted by disagreements, disputes, and biases.
As for the denasours who are leading our political parties, it is high time to step down and give the chance to the new generation to lead.
Let us all pave the way for the new generation to lead our young country.
This is the new generation is tested by life, learned and extracted.
We have witnessed during previous years how activists unconsciously led us into the unknown in their belief that the matter of governance is just talk.
They lacked the wisdom of silence, learning, and knowledge, so they lost the country.
Concentrating nominations on specific names and narrow constituencies is a lack of sophistication on the part of the decision maker and the influence of regional balances, influencers and lobbies.
It is something that must be remedied, as this war is a dividing line between old reality and new reality, old stage and new stage.
It is time to open a new chapter free from many defects.
