Deputy Head of the TSC discusses with Energy and Oil Minister the proposed solutions to resolve the Port Sudan electricity crisis.

Deputy Headvof the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander Malik Aqar Ayre was briefed on the efforts made to address the electricity issue in a number of Sudan states, especially the Red Sea State, and the proposed solutions and improvements at the Suakin Transmission Station to ease the burden and reduce the demand for the Turkish barge’s electricity.

During his meeting in his office in Port Sudan today with the Acting Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieldin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, Agar stressed the necessity of finding effective solutions to resolve the electricity crisis as soon as possible, pledging to overcome all obstacles and challenges facing the provision of electricity service.
He praised the efforts made by employees of the Ministry of Energy and Oil in providing services to citizens in light of the current circumstances.

The meeting discussed the ongoing arrangements and operational plan to repair the line transporting South Sudanese crude oil as It is necessary to restart it completely after the flow in the line increases by 80%.

For his part, the Minister of Energy stressed the ministry’s keenness and serious endeavor to solve the electricity crisis in a number of Sudanese states, explaining that there have already been improvements at the Suakin Transmission station, which would increase the network’s power by 25%, thus reducing the costs of demand for the Turkish barge.

His stated that the main control unit was transferred to the city of Atbara and the Al-Markhayat and Abu Hamad transformers were transferred to further improve electricity in the River Nile and the Red Sea.

With regard to the line transporting South Sudanese crude oil, he announced that the flow of crude oil was approaching 100% after removing all obstacles related to its operation.
