Al-Burhan meets UNICEF Executive Director

Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, 1st. Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, met in his office today with Catherine Russell, Executive Director of UNICEF, who is visiting Sudan to monitor the conditions of children in the country.
Al-Burhan praised the efforts made by UNICEF and its cooperation with the government to care for Sudanese children.
For his part, the acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, said in a press statement that the meeting discussed the initiatives presented by the organization and its projects to care for children in conflict areas and work to return the displaced to their homes.
For her part, Catherine Rassel praised the great cooperation she received from the government and relevant institutions, which contributed to facilitating the performance of her duties, emphasizing the organization’s keenness to participate in everything that would overcome the challenges and difficulties facing children in Sudan, especially with regard to nutrition and school dropout.
