Caught in the Middle:

By:Ali Noor

Vulnerable displaced Sudanese civilians are facing difficult times trying to figure out where to go next after being forced out from Gezira state by the fighting between the RSF and the army. Running out of their limited resources, many are falling victim to diseases amid harsh winter conditions. Treading the difficult route leading to Northern and Eastern relatively safe areas has become less desired option for many families with children and the elderly as fighting tricked towards major cities in those regions. Now, they are left with only one option, to return to their original places or stay put in Gezira state and wait for an unknown destiny.
With mediation efforts aimed at brokering a cease fire, still unfruitful, the future of the IDPs everywhere is bleak.
