Accreditation of a New Ambassador Representing Sudan to the EU

The Sudanese Ambassador Abdelbaki Hamdan Kabir on Thursday, February 15, 2024, presented his credentials to Mr. Charles Michel, Chairman of the Council of the European Union.
The ceremony of handing over the credentials was followed by a short meeting during which Mr. Charles Michel expressed their great interest in the situation in Sudan, stressing the strategic importance of Sudan and the impact of the situation on all the countries of the region. For his part, Ambassador Kabir gave a detailed explanation of the causes of the crisis in Sudan and the background of the Sudan war.
He explained that Sudan looks forward to a European role in exerting pressure on the Rapid Support Forces and its regional and international supporters to stop its barbaric attacks on unarmed civilians, which destroyed the country’s resources and infrastructure.
In conclusion, the two parties stressed the importance of communication and concerted efforts to address the situation in the country.
