UN Envoy Arrives in Sudan

The UNSG Personal Envoy to Sudan Ramtane Lamamra arrived in Sudan and met with the UN regional team in Port Sudan.
Lamamra hailed the efforts of the team aiming at providing the essential needs including healthcare, education, protection of the vulnerable local communities.
It is worth noting that the UNSG has appointed the ex- foreign minister of Algeria, Ramas his special envoy to Sudan mid November 2023.
Lamamra announced his desire to meet Sudanese and regional parties to push forward the efforts of bringing an end to the war in Sudan.
