Narcissistic Acts: Refugees inside our own country

By: Alaa Babiker

Sudan is one of the greatest countries in Africa, it is one of the top five countries that has the greatest land and the greatest population, which makes the human resources of great value.

Despite the above great brief, but the Sudanese population have been going through different stages of physical movement throughout history. Tribes have been into mobility status according to different factors, weather, economic status, ethnic conflicts, social distribution, but not at all for human needs.

Conflicts, armed battles, and ethnical genocides have forced great part of the population to travel from state to state inside the country, and from one country to the other over the past 40 years, making the Sudanese population among the unique ones to be refugees inside their own home land.

The numbers of internally displaced people have never reach this number in our history. Millions of individuals are suffering unstable mobility inside Sudan. Tens of thousands others are suffering outside the country. And thousands of children are missing both food and social security they need the most at their early ages.

The greedy beast has controlled our minds and therefore changed our morals. People are taking advantage of our crisis and earn money from others who need help already. The “Crisis Traders” are controlling the market everywhere in the country. Most of the Sudanese families have their own homes and relatives outside Khartoum State, but for many other families it is getting such a burden to find a good house the rent, 300 – 900 Thousand Sudanese Pounds a month! What a nonsense! Many other families have chosen to stay together at one house, or stay at their relatives houses, depending on the minimum they can get. This is an exact scenario of being refugees inside our own country!

May Allah grant our leader with wisdom to end this war. And may Him grant all families with grace, financial stability and good health.
