The International Committee of the Red Cross reported Sudan Ministry of Health the challenges and difficulties preventing the recovery of medical stock in Madani.
A joint meeting between the Ministry of Health and the International Committee of the Red Cross discussed how to extract life-saving medicines, medical supplies and intravenous solutions from the city of Madani in Al-Jazira State and distribute them to the various states of Sudan.
Sudanese Minister of Health Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim said that the medicines currently in Wad Madani are considered a strategic stock for all states in Sudan, so international organizations were contacted in order to get them out.
He pointed out that the government had contacted a number of international organizations to extract medicines from Khartoum before, but was unable to extract them either.
He stressed the continuation of attempts to speed up the extraction of medicines from Wad Madani, distribute them, and provide them to people with chronic diseases in the country.
