Foreign Ministry Strongly Condemns RSF militia Incursion to Naga and Musawarat

Khartoum – The Citizen
Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement in which it pointed out that the Rapid Support Forces ((RSF) militia aired vedios posted in social media showing some of it’s soldiers inside the heritage site of Naga and Musawarat located in River Nile state northern of Khartoum.
The RSF militia announced that it will make this area the start point for launching new attacks in its neighborhoods.
It is to be noted that Naga and Musawarat are ancient sites of the Kingdom of Kush dated back to 3 thousand years
According to UNESCO, the archaeological sites of the area of Meroe, located about 220 kilometres (137 miles) from Khartoum, was “the heartland of the Kingdom of Kush” and is home to pyramids, temples and dwellings dating back thousands of years.
The area of Meroe, which lies between the Nile and Atbara rivers, is a World Heritage Site whose ancient civilisation borrowed cultural traits from Pharaonic Egypt, Greece and Rome.
This crime is continuation of the RSF attempts to distroy the Sudanese cultural heritage which included Sudan National Museum, Documents National House, several universities, historic worshipping place the last of which was the destruction of the Anglican Church in Wad Medani which was built 100 years ago, besides the mosques and churches in greater Khartoum.
The RSF militia targetting the cultural heritage and worshipping places is one of the terrorism groups like ISIS and Boko Haram and other terror groups practices in Sahel area. The ICC sentenced an element of those groups in 2016 for destroying cultural heritage in Tumboktu (Mali).
Accordingly, there no justification for the international community, regional and international organizations for not classifying and dealing with the RSF militia as terror group.
