Orbits: RSF Unfortunate Statement

By: Muawad Mustafa Rashid

The Rapid Support Forces issued a statement which stipulated that an agreement was entered into between the RSF and the armed struggle movements to jointly coordinate to protect the citizens especially in El-Fashir city, besides formation of a joint force to confront the negative aspects, along with developing Juba Peace Agreement towards achieving sustainable peace and stability.
It is recognized that all what has been agreed on is among the mandate of the Sudanese Armed Forces, so any other party has no right to decide on it.
The Governor of Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minnawi was assigned according to Juba Peace Agreement between the Sudanese government and the Armed Struggle Movements, so how come other parties decide on the fate of the region, unless Juba Peace Agreement is cancelled.
I don’t believe that the genuine leaders of the Armed Struggle Movements will accept what is stipulated in the RSF statement, because it means non-recognition of Juba Peace Agreement which they signed.
Most importantly is to remind that the international community had condemned the RSF for its atrocities and human rights violations especially in West Darfur where it practiced ethnic cleansing.
It is high time for the Armed Struggle Movements to announce its rejection to the RSF statement, otherwise it’ll be classified as RSF allies.
