SFPA – River Nile State – Celebrates Pink October

The Sudanese Family Planning Association (SFPA) – River Nile State – has organized a ceremony yesterday, Saturday, at Al-Nil Theatre in Atbara.
The ceremony was attended by considerable number of government officials, civil society leading figures and hundreds of audiences.
The celebration of this year came under the slogan A STEP TOWARDS LIFE.
River Nile State Minister of Health addressed the ceremony, warning against the rise of cancer cases in the State as a result of the wastes of the conventional mining a matter that requires serious dealing with the issue.
The Minister lauded the pioneering role of the SPFA, calling for more support to the association to enable it conduct its noble mission without any obstacles.
For her part, Head of Family Planning Association in River Nile State, Dr. Kawthar Mohamed Ibrahim said in her speech in the ceremony, that this celebration aims at raising hope to breast cancer patients, adding that the slogan of this year encouraged breast cancer patients to resist any negative Impacts.
She enumerated the role of the SPFA in River Nile State, affirming that they have designed regular plans and awareness programs in all the areas of the State, revealing that Pink October of this year targets those who flee Khartoum war and settled in River Nile State in sheltering centres.
During the ceremony Ms.Roya Hamed, a breast cancer patient, working in Atbara court was honoured as a model of the females who passed the course of cancer with a step towards life.
