Orbits: Thinking Outside the Box. .. One Million Acacia Senegal Trees in River Nile State

The environmental balance is justice. When justice prevails, peace prevails, then we don’t need to kill each other.
Reaching environmental balance requires sacrifice (environmental martyrs).
The battle is big and long, but achieving the environmental balance is possible if each of us exerts all possible efforts.

The Initiative of Planting One Million Acacia Senegal Trees in River Nile State

With its endeavors to promote environment-related issues, The Citizen newspaper team caught up with Dr. Hassan Abdul Gadir Hilal (former Minister of Environment and renowned expert in environmental issues) to shed light on (One Million Acacia Senegal Trees plantation in River Nile State Initiative) who is considered the godfather of the initiative.
Dr. Hilal said the initiative aims at planting one million Acacia Senegal Trees in River Nile State in order to localize Gum Arabic cultivation in the area.

He enumerated the benefits of the project which include, but not limited to, preserving balanced environment, providing Gum Arabic for exportation to be used in medical and other purposes considering that Sudan now produces 85 percent of Gum Arabic worldwide.
Dr. Hilal said that he conducted a field survey in all areas of River Nile State, the outcome of which will be introduced in the launching meeting of the initiative on Wednesday 4th October in Ed-Damar in the presence of top government officials and representatives of environmental-related institutions.
The Citizen newspaper will cover all the developments of the initiative and provide other outlets with the necessary information to make the initiative a success, considering that we are on top of environment-related issues platforms.
