The regular meeting of the Technical Committee for Sheltering, which was held at the Secretariat of the Gezira State Government, headed by the Director General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Committee, Tariq Abdel Rahman, discussed the health situation in the shelter centers in the state, and the establishment of an eye camp through the Awrida Organization, which aims to conduct fifty small operations in the shelter centers, in addition to coordination with specialized hospitals to perform the major operations under the supervision of the Medical Committee of the Technical Committee for Shelters.

The meeting also discussed the service situation in the shelter centers and carrying out cleaning campaigns and combating vectors in the centers and neighborhoods.
The Head of the Technical Committee confirmed that the local shelter centers were free of negative phenomena and revealed a decision not to open new shelter centers in the city of Wad Medani, which had become unable to receive new arrivals.

Tariq added that the state has passed the critical period in the field of shelter, and that the conditions in the shelter centers are stable and going well according to what was planned by the state’s shelter committee, he also pointed out the importance of generalizing the eyes camp initiative to include all the shelter centers in the state…
