Orbits: New Vision to Achieve our Aspirations

By: Muawad Mustafa Rashid

It is recognized, since independence, that all the transitional periods in Sudan failed to come out with a national project to lay the foundation of a national and modern state.
The failure of the transitional periods led to the rise of military totalitarian regimes.
In our ongoing transitional period, the constitutional document determined clearly its requirements and all what is needed from the transitional government is to transfer those requirements into a matrix ready for implementation according to a specific timetable.
Unfortunately the transitional government and its political incubator failed in its mission due to the apparent weakness in the political will and the unawareness of the consequences of that failure.
As a result the whole nation is suffering the ongoing absurd war disaster.
I believe that the central issue which should be concentrated on by all Sudanese, regional and international influentials is to stop war, after which an agreed on political process with a clear vision could be launched.
Any negotiating mechanism will not succeed in bringing an end to the war unless it a kind of declaration of principles is drafted and agreed on by the majority of the Sudanese political civilian forces which I think is going on these days.
God bless Sudan and its people.
