Narcissistic Acts: The outcomes of a daily dream

By: Alaa Babiker
The Republic of Sudan. A country known of the city of Khartoum beig its Capital, that is untill the 14th of April 2023. Just one day later, the 15th of April 2023, everything changed.
The nourished Capital has been experiencing in a daily basis total destruction up to the 21st of June 2023, and now we need to dream or daydream of the very soon end of this war, and think of how are we going to build our Capital again!
For a start we need another state to take the role of a Capital, and PortSudan is taking that lead so far, as all government decision makers have moved there and it is now officially considered the administrative Capital of Sudan, which is a great quick start to help the rest of Sudan states and civilians working in private and government institutions may as well move from the capital to other states , but the question is can these institutions work fully?! Taking in consideration that most of Sudan’s other states have been greatly neglected for many years. So now it is their time to rise and nourish.
Everything in Sudan was being focused in Khartoum, all the important government institutions, all the infrastructures from hospitals to educational institutions, all the private companies of great importance, mining, engineering, and most of the national and international organizations, almost everything is based in Khartoum. Now, how are we going to rehabilitate them?! And how much time do we need to do so?!
We have two scenarios to rebuild the infrastructures of our country again; the first one is to have a massive international assistance effort, all of our allies should work together to help us stand up again, sending us not just Humanitarian Aid but large numbers of construction workers to assist us with the actual rebuilding process.
The second scenario, which is the best one, is to depend on ourselves (the Sudanese youth) starting with the government opening recruitment centers in all military facilities including the Armed Forces, and give the young generation a real chance with adequate supportive salaries to work on construction, hospitals, education, agriculture, and all the other field to get the country back on its feet again. This is my dream that I pray for everyday to come true; stand up with Sudan again, and Yes we can.
