Director General of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, Rahba Saeed Abdallah, renewed their keenness to matching the goods and products with standard specifications and to tighten preventive control to ensure the safety and health of consumers, pointing to the continuation of the campaigns of the unified team for consumer protection during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr.

Rahba called on the manufacturers to adhere to the requirements that must be met in the manufacture of sweets and matching weights, and to take into account that the packaging should be with permitted materials for food in accordance with the Sudanese standard specification for packing and wrapping sweets, pointing to the importance of using authorized materials.

Rahba stressed that the packaging must include a clear identification card showing the name of the product, the trademark, the basic ingredients and additives to the candy, the name and address of the factory, the net weight in kilograms or its derivatives, the date of production and the expiration date, and that this data be in Arabic and include the phrase “Made in Sudan” in the case of production locally or writing the country of origin in the case of import
