Regional Darfur agricultural forum concludes, issues recommendations

The first regional agricultural forum organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in the government of Darfur Region continued sessions in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State,  as the general directors of the ministries of agriculture and plant protection managers in the states of Darfur and the relevant international agencies and organizations met round discussion table to come out with a concrete recommendations.

Participants in the working sessions discussed a paper on Seeds Improvement in Darfur, presented by Dr. Salih Abkar, Director of Agricultural Research in the region.

This is in addition to another paper on the Agricultural Associations: Reality and Future Prospects, which was presented by agricultural engineer Al-Hadi Nur-Eddin Abdel-Hamid.

The forum, furthermore, also reviewed a working paper on climate change and its effect on the agricultural sector in the region.

The forum concludes its work by issuing its final statement and recommendations.
