Initiative of University of Khartoum Calls for Supporting Democratic Transition

Professors of the University of Khartoum, Saturday, at Taiba Press Hall , announced an initiative to support the democratic transition and the need to unite vision and bring together the national community to accomplish the tasks of the transition period by opening dialogue to reach a solution leads to restoring the country’s democratic path.

This came during a press conference on mechanisms and structures of the transitional authority aimed at approving a constitutional declaration and the formation of a competent government, along with the formation of the sovereignty council, the judiciary, the legislative council and the Council of Ministers with scientific standards and competencies.

It is to be noted that the initiative of the Professors of University of Khartoum includes Professors of Sudan University of Science and Technology, Al-Neelain University, University of Gezira, Sass Law Centre and Oil Workers Association.

Meanwhile, Majdi Bakr Mahmoud, Secretary General, reported that the initiative works to meet the challenges and facilitate the political process in the transitional period.

Majdi reviewed the criteria and conditions for the formation of the Legislative Council, the Sovereignty Council, the Council of Ministers, state governors and judicial organs.
