Blue Nile Peace Studies Center organizes workshop on peace-building

The Center for Peace Studies at Blue Nile University, in partnership with the UNITAMS mission, organized Monday in Damazin a workshop on the experience of building peace in Blue Nile region, knowing possible solutions and the possibility of presenting ideas.

Head of the Supreme Council of Culture Ms. Foateh Al-Nour, representing the governor of the region, stressed the importance of such workshops to assess the repercussions of the conflicts that the Blue Nile region went through, adding that the region was in need of a supporting peace and ending war program in the region.

She pointed out that the conflict had great impact, appreciating the efforts and support of the United Nations organizations in spreading peace in the region.

Director of the Center for Peace Studies at Blue Nile University Dr. Ehsas Al-Madani, highlighted the role of the center in employing scientific research to consolidate peace and integrate development decisions to serve peace issues, reviewing the projects of the center that were implemented with support of United Nations and international and national organizations.

For her part, Ms. Kara Johnston, UNITAMS peace-building official, explained that the organization’s goal is to work with all parties to build peace and to know the available opportunities to work on it and establish peace.
