Orbits: Insecurity in Greater Khartoum!

The news in the few last weeks revealed several horrible incidents in Greater Khartoum in which machine guns were among the tools to be used.

The most attracted scene for me was that woman shouldering here Kalashnikov in search for her husband who was said that he married another woman. The woman wanted to shoot him dead as revenge.

Another story that dominated the social media outlets was about the injury of a journalist by three robbers riding a motorcycle while trying to snatch his mobile phone.

It is a very serious issue for a journalist to be attacked at Khartoum downtown, an incident that reveals a big security shortfall under which the Khartoum State lives.

The above incidents which are just examples for many similar announced incidents, reveals that a series of crimes is on the increase by the day in the Capital. And this invites the question: How can a Capital City, whose roads swarm with security forces, police and army personnel, see such insecurity to the extent that families feel insecure within their own homes and fear for their children at the schools and universities.

If such incidents would balloon up into a state of lawlessness in Khartoum, the Interior Minister, the Police Chief and the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council would find no excuse with which to justify this big security shortage. This is a call for the reconsideration of the security dossier over and over again.
