In the World Consumer Rights Day .. SSMO Pledges to care for the People with Special Needs

Director General of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO), Ms. Rahba Saeed Abdallah has announced, during the celebration of the World Consumer Rights Day, Arab Standardization Day and honoring the Ideal Mother, under the theme (Consumers’ Empowerment through transition to clean energy), that the SSMO will adapt the feeding of Vitreous bone patients  for one year besides the formation of technical committee to prepare the standard specifications of the disability devices under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of the People of Special Needs Union along with the implementation of the code of building construction.

She added that the studies conducted by the international Consumer Federation pointed to the rise in the energy prices by 50% a matter that contributed in the sky-rocketing of the foodstuff prices. She added that the clean energy plays a pivotal role in making the houses clean besides the clean power supply.

For his part, The Chairman of the National Committee of Consumers’ Affairs, Chairman of the National Agency of Consumer Protection, Dr. Nasr Addeed Shulgami urged for the registration of the Sudanese Consumer Protection Society which was working in raising the awareness of the consumers for more than 25 years, adding that the society has become the peoples’ property.

Community Medicine Specialist, Dr. Suad El-Tahir Ahmed, presented a working paper on the helping apparatuses and the determinants of health and the definition of health.

President of the Sudanese Society for the Care of Vitreous Bone Patients, Dr. Shaza Sidahmed paper pointed out to the challenges facing the patients and how to deal with them, calling on the civil society organizations to support the kids of vitreous bone disease to enable them integrate in the schools and universities.

The ceremony included honoruing dignitaries of Sudanese mothers working in the SSMO, besides honoring the Sudanese theater pioneers, Ms. Balqees Awad and Zakiya Mohamed Abdallah for their considerable efforts in promoting the culture of standardization and consumer protection.
