Al-Burhan confirms Sudan’s quest to own a fleet of drones

Khartoum, March 14, 2023 – The President of the Sovereignty Council, Army Commander, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, revealed on Wednesday an effort to own a fleet of drones, for protection and insurance purposes.
Al-Burhan and the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Muhammad Othman Al-Hussein, witnessed the conclusion of the activities of the exercise (men’s determination), for students of the special forces and drone courses.
In a speech to the graduates, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces said: “We seek to obtain drones to be used in operations, and we will have a striking drone force capable of resolving any internal or external threat.”
He pledged to continue the process of developing and raising the capabilities of the armed forces to qualify them to confront any threats efficiently and competently.
The official spokesman’s office said that the exercise (men’s determination) is a virtual exercise to carry out highly trained special groups, supported by marches against terrorist and subversive elements.
The Sudanese army surpasses the rest of the armed factions by monopolizing air weapons and armored vehicles.
