International Envoys Reiterate their Support to the Framework Agreement

The International Envoys have reiterated their supportive stance to the Framework Agreement which was signed on December 5th, 2022, considering it as the best base for the formation of civilian government that will lead to the democratic transformation.
This came during a meeting that included the signatories of the Framework Agreement, the six envoys representing the US, UK, France, Germany, Norway, and the European Union envoy to the Horn of Africa. The meeting took place at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum.
Political Process Spokesperson, Eng. Khalid Omer said, in press statements after the meeting, that the international envoys affirmed their support to the Framework Agreement, pointing out that the purpose of their visit is to push forward the Framework Agreement process in order to reach a final agreement.

He added that the envoys affirmed their resumption of providing support to Sudan which was stopped since 25th October 2021 after the formation of a civilian government based on the ongoing political process, disclosing that the international envoys recognize the political and economic challenges facing Sudan.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of African Affairs, Lord Peter, who represents the International Envoys affirmed their support and assistance to the Framework Agreement signed on December 5th to come out from the present crisis, pointing out that the Framework Agreement is the best base for the formation of civilian government in Sudan and the best base to establish transitional constitutional arrangements for a transitional period that leads to elections.
