The Israeli newspaper Haaretz quoted an Israeli official as saying that Sudan is preparing to sign an agreement to normalize relations with Israel.

A source added to the newspaper that the ongoing contacts between Tel Aviv and Khartoum, with American assistance, have made tangible progress between the two sides, promising the imminent signing of what is known as the Abraham Accords.

Haaretz stated that what it described as good relations between the Israeli political and security leadership with the military authorities in Sudan has revived normalization efforts again.

Meanwhile, an Israeli plane landed at Khartoum Airport, and Israeli media revealed that the plane, named (4X-CUZ) (4XCUZ), had taken off from Tel Aviv Airport at dawn, heading to Sudan.

In October 2020, Sudan announced its intention to join the Abraham Accords, but refrained from doing so after a military coup took place, which caused the cessation of public contacts between the two sides.
