Conference on Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan Concludes Sessions

The Conference of Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan and the completion of the peace concluded sessions Friday evening in Friendship Hall in Khartoum with participation of stakeholders and in the presence of a number of party leaders who signed the framework agreement and representatives of the diplomatic missions.

The spokesman of the political process in Sudan, Khalid Omer Yousif, has read over the final statement, the general recommendations and summaries of the groups in their initial form, while a meeting will be held on Sunday to formulate the final recommendations.

The recommendations stressed the need to adhere to the peace agreement and to preserve the gains achieved for the interest of the displaced people, the refugees and the local communities affected by the war.

The recommendations and the final statement stressed the importance of including the peace agreement in the constitution in order to make provisions of the agreement so as to be constitutional texts.

The recommendations appealed for strengthening the mechanisms of Juba Peace Agreement’s implementation and mobilizing popular and international support in order to facilitate and accelerate the implementation process.

The recommendations referred to the problems and obstacles that impeded the implementation of the agreement, top of which was the poor funding, weak political will and the political instability that prevailed during the last period.
