Vice President of Sovereignty Council Meets with Kenyan Deputy President
The Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, Rigathi Gachagua, received in his office in Nairobi on Monday evening the Vice – President of the Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, in the presence of Sudan Ambassador to Kenya, Kamal Jubara.
The meeting discussed progress of the bilateral relations between Khartoum and Nairobi, and ways to strengthen them further in the political and diplomatic fields, as well as raising the level of coordination between the two countries at the regional and international levels, in a way that serves common interests and achieves security and stability in the region, especially in the Republic of South Sudan, for which Sudan is a guarantor of the revitalized peace agreement. In addition to Sudan position as the current president of the IGAD organization.
The Vice – President of the Sovereignty Council has briefed the Kenyan Deputy President on the political developments in Sudan and the efforts made and facilitated by the tripartite mechanism in order to reach a final agreement that leads to formation of a government that completes the transitional period, up to the elections stage.
He affirmed Sudan’s interest and keenness to consolidate its cooperation with Kenya, in the fields of agriculture, animal production and the exchange of experiences, expressing Sudan readiness to establish mechanisms to promote the trade and economic work between the two countries.
On his part, the Kenyan Deputy President expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Vice President of the Sovereignty Council for accepting the invitation to visit Kenya, praising the great efforts made by Sudan to achieve stability in the region, especially peace in South Sudan state, in addition to is continuous efforts through its presidency of the IGAD to consolidate the foundations of peace and security in the region.
He expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate with Sudan in all domains, especially in the political, economic and diplomatic fields.
