The 11th Scientific Conference of the Sudanese Orthopedic Association kicks off

The Sudanese Association of Orthopedic Surgeons announced the launch of the activities of the eleventh scientific conference of the Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, starting from Friday, corresponding to the twenty-seventh of January, at Alsalam Rotana Hotel, and will continue until the twenty-ninth Sunday of the same month.
This came during a press conference held by the Sudanese Orthopedic Association at the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) platform today.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Badri Hamdan, President of the Sudanese Orthopedic Surgeons Association, said that 85 various scientific papers related to the requirements of orthopedic surgery will be discussed, with the participation of six countries for the scientific discussion of effective treatment of orthopedic diseases.
He added that despite the challenges represented by the emigration of doctors and the lack of support, we seek to establish the National Center for Orthopedic Surgery in order to indegnize orthopedic surgery inside Sudan.
For his part, Dr. Khaled Zaroug, Secretary General of the Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, said that such conferences need financial support, appealing to private companies and medical companies for support in order to develop the quality of this work and apply it downward to the ground of reality.
Major General Dr. Hafez Muhammad Ali, Vice President of the Society, stated that the registered number of orthopedic specialists in Sudan is 500, and the number currently in the country is about 200, due to the lack of a suitable environment and the factor of migration outside Sudan.
He added that the aim of the conference is to hold training courses and workshops for specialists in this field in order to localize treatment and exchange experiences among the participating countries, calling on the state and the private sector to be key partners to support orthopedic surgery through the Sudanese Orthopedic Association.
It is worth noting that the Sudanese Orthopedic Surgeons Association was established in 2008, and its first conference was held in 2009. One of its objectives is to train Sudanese surgeons and localize orthopedic surgery
