RSF Human Rights Unit selected as part of National Human Rights Mechanism

Minister of Cabinet Affairs in charge of carrying out the duties of the Sudanese Prime Minister, Othman Hussein Othman, issued a decision to form the “National Human Rights Mechanism”.
The decision stipulated that the mechanism be headed by the Minister of Justice, with a membership of 24 members, representatives of each of the Councils for Persons with Disabilities, Child Welfare, the Unit for Combating Violence against Women, the Public Prosecution Office, and the Judicial Authority, in addition to representatives of the relevant ministries, including the Interior and Foreign Affairs, and the Unit. The mechanism aims, according to the decision, to prepare periodic reports and responses that Sudan submits to international and regional mechanisms in the field of human rights, to discuss them with this mechanism, and to follow up the observations and recommendations issued by those mechanisms. It also aims to coordinate and cooperate between all relevant national parties in preparing reports. periodicals, and Sudan’s responses related to human rights, and their formulation and discussion before the Mechanism in a timely manner.
