Orbits: Resistance Committees Controversy!

By Muawad Rashid
According to news articles the components of the Resistance Committees have endorsed the Revolutionary Charter in its final stage to pave the way for civilian rule, along with approving the structures of the Committees.
It was said that the endorsement of the Revolutionary Charter came after a two-week workshops during which intensive deliberations took place from the old and new signatories.
Meanwhile, a group of the Resistance Committees components announced its rejection to the Framework Agreement, stressing its sticking to the protesting line which calls for toppling the existent military coup.
No doubt those differences in the stances towards the Framework Agreement and in dealing with the political forces will lead to fragmentations amid the Resistance Committees.
A statement issued by the Revolutionary Charter office revealed intention to hold a press conference to reveal the items of the Charter in its final stage.
The Charter disregarded the Constitutional Document and the Juba Peace Agreement signed on October 2020 a matter which will lead to direct confrontation with the Armed Struggle signatory Movements.
On the other hand a group representing the Resistance Committees met the Ethiopian Prime Minister during his recent visit to Khartoum, after which a statement distributed from the so-called the Resistance Committees Coordinating body affirmed that those who met with the Abiy Ahmed do not represent them and do not express their stances.
It is our right as citizens to know the names of the Resistance Committees which met with the Ethiopian Prime Minister considering that meeting the foreign top officials requires approval from the government. The meeting between the Ethiopian Premier and that group meant that the government recognized it as representing the Resistance Committees.
It is true that the Resistance Committees have become part of the political parties in the Sudanese political arena, so it is necessary to know who are they to give a chance for all to communicate with it either supporters or opponents for more transparency.
Resistance Committees must not be imaginary or unsubstantial body!
