Gedarif State hosts UNICEF workshop

Governor of Gedarif State Mohamed Abdel Rahman Mahjoub has called on UNICEF to play more roles and interventions, particularly in water axis.

During his address to the UNICEF consultative workshop for the year 2024 held at the government’s secretariat in Gedarif the capital of the state, the Governor praised the efforts led by the organization in the fields of water, health, education, nutrition, child care and protection in various parts of the state, calling for the importance of presenting these projects to be implemented within the new plan.

Meanwhile, he gave directives to executive directors of the localities to pay more attention to the issues of underage marriage and malnutrition, requesting the organization to implement its work based on plans and programs, taking in consideration the state affected by asylum.

For his part UNICEF Director for Eastern Sector Osman Abu-Shaba indicated that the workshop aims at exchanging ideas on the new action plan to achieve more activities included in the organization’s programs.
