Commander-in-Chief honors closing of 57th Shooting Festival in Blue Nile

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, saluted the people of the Blue Nile region for including all the people of Sudan over the past centuries with their values and extravagant heritage.

During the honoring of the excellence, in conclusion of the General 57th Shooting Festival in Qarqada Mountain area in the Bau locality, Blue Nile, today, he stressed that the people of the Blue Nile region are still a faithful incubator for the armed forces, regretting the recent unfortunate incidents in the region, considering it a summer cloud that will soon pass, and will not happen again, announcing the start of gradual disarmament of the citizens.

Al-Burhan pointed out that efforts for reconcilation between components of the state are about to reach their end, saluting the member of the TSC, Malik Aqar, indicating that his sincere intention was and still is to achieve stability for the people of the region, asserting necessity of respect to the well-established tribal foundations on which the country’s civil system was based hundreds of years ago and avoiding the formation of any new administrative systems.

Regarding the political situation, Al-Burhan stressed the armed forces support to the democratic approach and all the steps that would serve this goal, indicating that the armed forces will remain a professional national forces that carry its duties away from politics, expressing hope that the signed agreement will lead the country out of the current crisis.

Al-Burhan emphasized that he would not allow the dismantling of the armed forces, calling on the civil forces to work for the arrangement of their political parties and organizations.

Regarding the dealing with international and regional powers, he indicated: “no party or embassy will dictate to us what we should do, and that there are red lines that are not allowed to be crossed.”

Al-Burhan has extended special thanks to the Republic of South Sudan for hosting a large number of displaced persons in the region during the last period, also thanking the regional neighboring countries, especially Egypt, Ethiopia and Chad, stressing : “we are keen on its stability.”

The President of the Sovereignty Council criticized the non-objective accusations by some parties of the armed forces for recruiting mercenaries to destabilize some neighboring countries, stressing that this is not the manners of the armed forces, which are forces that meet professional standards and should not be the target of political intrigues from some sides.

Al-Burhan has inaugurated the headquarters of the Blue Nile Military Area, the markets of the National Cooperative Corporation, of the 4th Infantry Division, and attended the signing ceremony of the framework agreement for peaceful coexistence between the components of the Blue Nile State region.

It is worth noting that general shooting festival is held every two years in one of the military areas, in which competitions are held on shooting skills for all formations and units of the armed forces in all their specializations at the level of weapons of all kinds, in addition to artillery and air force fire, paratroopers and drones, with performance of shooting skills of commanders, officers and soldiers, and during which the Commander-in-Chief and Chief of Staff honor the winning units and conclude the training year.

This years shooting festival was attended by the member of the TSC, Malik Aqar, the Chief of Staff and the Governor of the Blue Nile Region, members of the Armed Forces Command, the Deputy Director of the General Intelligence Service and the Commander of the Blue Nile Military Region, the senior commanders and officers of the Armed Forces and leaders of the native administrations in the region with an official poplular presence.
