Daglo Affirms Government Commitment to Keep Security and Stability in Darfur

Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, has stressed the government commitment to keeping security and stability, and its relentless endeavor to preserve the security and safety of the citizens in Darfur states.

During his visit Saturday to Tagala area, affiliated to Belail, Locality in South Darfur State, Gen. Daglo pointed out that the official authorities are serious to arrest and bring to the justice institutions the perpetrators involved in the events in the Belail area.

He said that there is an investigation committee that will issue its results soon and will reveal the facts in a transparent manner, stressing that “we refuse the killing of people and the looting of their properties”.

On his part, the Wali (governor) of South Darfur State reassured the citizens at the affected areas in Belail Locality that law and justice will be applied against all those who caused the unfortunate events.

He appreciated the move taken by the chieftains of Messairiya tribe at Netega Locality in welcoming and hosting the persons displaced as a result of the events.
